SETI@home: Project News Weekly Outage
Posted 7 days agoEvery Tuesday morning (Pacific time) we have a 3-4 hour outage for database maintenance. The upload/download servers and some web pages are offline during this time. Due to server upgrades, the outage this week will start earlier (and end later) than usual. [Link]

The survey asks BOINC client users about their demographic data, level of education, income, project participation, level of interest, suggestions for improvement, and technical data related to their computers running BOINC. Posted 9 weeks agoThe upload server has been fixed. Once the system clears the backlog of results waiting to be uploaded, validated, and assimilated, disk space will clear up and this will allow new work to be generated. [Link]

Posted 6 months agoThe Near Time Persistency Checker (software we are developing to get up-to-date analysis of SETI@home results) has enjoyed recent progress. There is work still to be done, but the basic plumbing is in place - for example, on the Science Status page we added counts of signals SETI@home found where the Arecibo is currently pointing. [Link]
