Old article on being a good wife
My own wife, god rest her soul, was a partial believer in this philosophy. She always maintained that “While the president gets the press, the first lady runs the country”.
I think to a degree that’s true - I could be an ass, and she’d have no trouble telling me, but it was always in private. Publicly I was “in charge”, but in reality when I put my foot down, 9 times out of 10 she’d put hers right on top of it. ^_^
I miss her.
